1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DiskCompanion ("Software", "Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any portion of these Terms, do not install or use the Software.

2. License Grant & Scope of Use

Subject to these Terms and payment of the applicable license fee ($29 USD for Lifetime Pro, or complimentary use under the Free Evaluation tier), we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual personal license to:

• Install and activate DiskCompanion on up to three (3) personal Mac computers owned or controlled by you.
• Access all minor and maintenance updates within the 1.x version series without recurring subscription fees.
• Use the Software for personal or internal professional storage analysis and disk cleanup.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, redistribute, rent, lease, or create derivative works based upon the Software.

3. Safety & File Management

DiskCompanion is designed with safety as its foundational architecture:

• 100% Reversible Cleaning: All cleaned temporary files, system caches, and application residues are routed to your standard macOS Trash. Files are not permanently purged until you manually empty your Mac Trash.
• Protected Directories: The Software permanently excludes user Documents, Desktop, Photos, Music, and iCloud Drive folders from automated deletion.
• User Verification: While DiskCompanion assists in identifying bloated System Data and caches, you retain ultimate discretion over which files are removed from your device.

4. Privacy & Data Security

DiskCompanion adheres to a strict zero-telemetry policy. The Software runs 100% locally and offline on your Mac. DiskCompanion does not transmit your filenames, folder structures, personal data, or hardware identifiers to any remote server. Cryptographic notarization is conducted directly through Apple's automated notary service.

5. Pricing, Payments & Refunds

DiskCompanion Lifetime Pro is sold as a one-time purchase of $29 USD. There are no recurring monthly or annual subscription fees.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. While DiskCompanion is engineered to Apple Human Interface Guidelines and thoroughly notarized by Apple, we do not warrant that operation will be error-free or uninterrupted.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the Developer or team be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of data, revenue, or device downtime) arising out of or related to the use or inability to use the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In all cases, aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Software license ($29 USD).

8. Intellectual Property

DiskCompanion, its source code, design assets, SpaceLens visual technology, documentation, and website are the intellectual property of DiskCompanion. Apple, macOS, Sonoma, Sequoia, and Apple Silicon are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

9. Governing Law & Updates

These Terms are governed by applicable laws without regard to conflict of law principles. We reserve the right to revise these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Software following any revisions constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
